I have never written a restaurant review before but my experience at Elalquimista was so enjoyable in every sense they broke my habit of silence. The food was fabulous and matched by the decor, service and atmosphere. The chef introduced the dishes in a quiet, unassuming way and they were sensational. The staff didn’t ask for a review but they absolutely deserve the courtesy of an open comment, and if you are reading this you deserve to share the experience. It’s a new start and is going to go a long long way. Thank you to the Elalquimista Team for a wonderful evening out of the blue. We dined early Saturday evening (27th March 2026), having walked past the restaurant earlier that day, looked in the window and got chatting to the lovely hostess, so much so we booked dinner that night on a whim, before seeing Richard Ashcroft at the 02. Mr Ashcroft being the reason we were in Greenwich for the weekend, this proved to be an additional highlight. Food was superb quality, perfectly cooked tasty dishes with it being presented by the chef with a brief description only highlighted the senses even more. Absolutely delicious! Service was excellent quality discreet but mindful that we needed to be finished for the concert. Incredible value for money incl the wine and highly recommended. Amazing food. Amazing service. One more thing to love about Greenwich! Turned our simple occassion celebration to a very special one. Ps as a dessert lover. The apple crumble wowed me a lot! Weronika GalkaTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Without exaggeration, one of the best (if not the best) dining experiences we’ve had in London. We had several dishes from the new Spring 2026 menu, including a roast pigeon, ceviche, duck, salmon, and cauliflower. Every single dish was crafted to perfection and contained a true depth of flavours - we could really tell the chef was a master of his craft. What we particularly loved about the food was the way in which it combined peruvian flavours with other world cuisines. We’ve never tasted flavour combinations like those before, but they worked so well! We felt like our culinary horizons were expanded by our visit. The ambiance of the restaurant was likewise lovely, and the service was attentive. A touch we found particularly impressive was that the chef would come up to our table to personally explain the provenance and logic behind each dish. A true hidden gem in Greenwich. We’re lucky to have a restaurant like this in our ends! Karen MTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Amazing experience! Every plate was beautifully presented, and the cocktails were exceptional, truly some of the best we’ve had. As a Peruvian, I’m quite hard to impress when it comes to Peruvian food in Europe, but this time I was genuinely left speechless by how delicious everything was. I truly appreciated the authenticity of the flavours, each dish reflected the true essence of Peruvian cuisine, elevated with a refined European touch. On the other hand, a lovely highlight was the chef Walter personally introducing each dish and explaining the ingredients, which made the experience feel even more special. The atmosphere and decor were warm, intimate, and full of character. The service was excellent throughout. A true culinary gem in Greenwich and by far the best restaurant we’ve tried in the area. We’ll definitely come back every time we visit London. Ryan HusbandsTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Couldn’t have had a better experience, service was outstanding and the food was too. Refined food whilst staying true to Peruvian cuisine. One member of the group is coeliac and most options were naturally gluten free, allergens clearly labelled which is always a big plus. Theo HamesTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Lovely people and by far the best food in Greenwich, would thoroughly recommend - great cocktails too! We will be back! Claudia Cueva YupanquiTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. My husband and I went to Al Alquimista to celebrate our wedding anniversary and it did not disappoint. It surpassed our expectations. The food was absolutely delicious and the added details such as the soup and bread made a really nice addition. The chef coming out to explain the dishes was a lovely touch. We will be retuning here very soon! Govinda TiwariTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. A welcome addition to the Greenwich food scene, especially as it's independent! Food was good but overpriced IMO. Would be more reasonable at 50% lower. However, ceviche was a standout dish.
